Amazing Beef Brisket Recipe
This fantastic recipe was shared with us by CSA member Pat, who learned it from her friend - this is the kind of recipe that we LOVE to receive and share, passed through friends who love to cook and eat great food together! Thanks Pat!
Time: 4.5 hours
1 beef brisket
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup ketchup
1 envelope onion soup mix
2 cups chopped potatoes and carrots (optional)
Combine 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup ketchup and 1 envelope onion soup mix.
Score the brisket on the diagonal in the fat.
Spread half of mixture on bottom of pan, the other half on the brisket.
Place brisket in pan fat side up.
Cover the pan and bake at 300 F for at least 4 hours.
At hour 3 add potatoes and carrots (optional).
After 4 hours slice the brisket on the diagonal and put back in pan.
Cook additional 30 minutes at 400 F.
